The Respect in Restaurants Collaborative (RRC) is a restaurant accreditation body whose goal is to preserve the dignity and respect of restaurant employees as well as to provide information and assistance to restaurants regarding successful employee management. Acceptance as an accredited member of RRC shows employees, diners, and the community that the establishment is making a concerted effort to ensure that employees are treated fairly and respectfully. Membership in RRC shows the public that the restaurant is an employer of choice.

Why would my establishment want to join?

Employees and the general public are concerned about employees being disrespected in the workplace. Acceptance as an accredited member of RRC shows employees, diners, and the community that your establishment is making a concerted effort to ensure  your employees are treated fairly and respectfully. An employer who cares about its employees is not only attractive to prospective employees, but also to prospective diners. RRC Accredited members are “employers of choice” to highly qualified applicants in a very competitive recruiting environment.

Establishments who obtain accreditation in RRC receive:

  • Posters suitable for framing to use in your facilities to show you are an accredited RRC member.
  • Listings on our website and in our marketing materials to show you are an accredited RRC member.
  • Discounted subscription in the use of our RRC Hotline where employees can report concerns regarding harassment in the workplace.

How Do I Apply?

CLICK HERE to apply for membership. Establishments initially receive a “Pending Membership” status until they provide documentation showing they have provided supervisor training, harassment training, and have other policies and procedures in place to insure they are dedicated to providing a respectful environment for their employees. Accredited members receive the benefits of Full Membership status.

What is the Cost?

Through September 2018, the Membership Application fee is $350 which includes the first 12 months of membership after accreditation. The second-year renewal membership will be $250.

As Members, we:

  1. Understand that professional employees are the core of our success.
  2. Know that our employees deserve dignity and respect in the workplace.
  3. Conduct employee background checks for selected positions to increase the safety of our workplaces.*
  4. Strive to work together to keep our establishments free from unwanted harassment and discrimination by managers, co-workers, vendors, or customers.
  5. Have written policies prohibiting unlawful harassment and discrimination in the workplace.*
  6. Provide anti-harassment training to all of our employees and provide additional management training to our supervisors.*
  7. Encourage employees to notify us if a person in the workplace treats them with disrespect; if they aren’t comfortable speaking to us, we will also provide a hotline that they can call to make a report.*
  8. Will insure that claims are investigated promptly.
  9. Will take appropriate action to stop the disrespectful behavior.
  10. May ask disrespectful customers to leave the premises.
